The first-ever International Silver Day (ISD) will be celebrated on April 7, 2026 (AG47), marking the beginning of an annual worldwide observance dedicated to one of humanity’s most essential elements.
Founded in 2025 as a grassroots initiative, ISD aims to raise awareness of silver’s enduring contribution to civilization — from its ancient role in trade and currency to its modern importance in energy, technology, and medicine.
International Silver Day has already gained global acknowledgment and is endorsed by supporters across the silver ecosystem, with early supporters including First Majestic Silver, First Mint, Citizens for Sound Money, PeerMetals, and SilverPundit.
These organizations join a growing movement of educators, investors, artisans, and industry leaders uniting to celebrate silver’s legacy and promote understanding of its vital role in a sustainable future.
Silver’s atomic number 47 inspired the choice of date: April 7 → 4/7 → AG47.
The day symbolizes both silver’s scientific identity and its timeless cultural significance, bridging past and present in a single powerful symbol.
ISD’s mission is to bring together voices from every corner of the silver community — miners, mints, educators, artisans, and enthusiasts — to highlight silver’s monetary legacy, industrial utility, and cultural symbolism.
The first celebration on April 7, 2026 will feature collaborative campaigns, educational content, and community events around the world.
